pet surgery and dental care
Veterinary ServicesAt South County Veterinary Hospital, we believe in making sure our patients remain safe during surgery and other medical procedures is extremely important to us.
SCVH SURGERY AND DENTAL CARE
Our veterinary team takes every precaution so that your pet receives the highest-quality care. We perform a physical exam and pre-anesthetic testing before surgery, monitor your pet during surgery, and provide appropriate pain medication to keep your pet comfortable during recovery.
Soft Tissue Surgery
Comprehensive surgical services are available, however, common surgeries include spays and neuters, de-clawing cats, and abdominal and thoracic surgery. Soft tissue surgery is a type of procedure done on the tissues of the body rather than bones or major organs. Our team has medical facilities onsite to conduct this type of surgical procedure in a very safe and sterile environment.
Orthopedic Surgery
Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. Orthopedic surgeries include routine fractures, cruciate ligaments reconstruction, and many other bone and joint problems.
Cosmetic Surgery
These surgeries include tail docks, claw removal, and ear cropping for all breeds.
Anesthesia
There are some situations where your pet will need general anesthesia or sedation while under our care (dental services, surgical procedures, some anxious or fearful patients for exams or to perform medical diagnostics). Only safe, modern anesthetics are administered, while every patient is on monitoring equipment and is closely watched.
